Migration of Clients to a new server
I have been tasked with setting up a couple hosted servers which we host our clients data on.
This has involved working with my manager, learning the different steps and troubleshooting involved and then testing of the new servers.
I have also created a step by step guide of how to set up the server from start to finish if one ever needs to be set up again.
I have finally get the server set up now and it is working as expected.
I have also been tasked with the project to contact all of the customers that are on our old servers and then get the them to run a connection checker to see if they can reach our new server.
Once they have passed the checker, I have then had to arrange time for this migration which will incur downtime on the clients end.
So most of this work has been carried out, out of hours when I get home from work.
I have moved a few customers now but I have a lot more to go so best get cracking...

Ziggy, your step by step guide should offer excellent evidence.
ReplyDeleteI still need to go through it and take out the Safetynet sensitive stuff, hopefully will be able to get around to that soon
