Networking Fundamentals Week
This week we carried out our Networking Fundamentals exam and thankfully I passed it.
I didn't pass it by loads of marks so I still need to get my head down into my book and keep on learning the syllabus for my next exams.
But a pass is a pass so I am overall happy with my result.
We went over a lot of what I already knew from my MTA Networking and Security, for example different port numbers and which protocol matches to that, the different types of IEEE wireless standards, different types of cables and what the different types do like cross over and straight through.
There was some stuff that I did learn which was new to me.
Some of the new stuff was about subnetting and supernetting. I have heard of these terms before but never really knew what they were so I was going in blind with these.
Luckily Sid did a fantastic job at delivering that information to us in a way that we all pretty much got it.
And he did all of that amazing teaching whilst nearly being robbed of £300 from a dodgy guy in Congleton...
After we finished all of the teaching and learned everything, we has a little session on HTML and CSS with Gerrard. It was a really interesting lesson to be in, I did Computer Science at GCSE and the first year of A Levels and I did enjoy it but just couldn't get my head around the coding site of this so I left and joined here at Escalla.
It was good getting a blast from the past going through it all, I learned Python and Ruby but always wanted to tamper in a bit of HTML but just never got the time to do so.
Overall I was very happy with the lesson that Gerrard presented and I wish we had more time to go through it all again and much more.

Here's a snapshot from my website if you wanted to see.
