First week back at Escalla for level 4
Finally, I'm back, back to the amazing teaching and presentation skills of the Sidmister.
So on Thursday, we got to do a presentation on disaster recovery, which I actually enjoyed. Some people don't like standing up and presenting on a chosen subject matter but I don't mind it. I actually enjoy it. I feel like, when you actually get up there and present to someone, if you don't panic, It can greatly increase your self-confidence. I am not someone who is completely outgoing and always the one to speak, I'm usually someone who will be in the group and contribute as much as everyone else unless its a subject that I am confident on. But after presenting power points, it does help your confidence quite a lot.

It is a bit different being back without the rest of my level 3 team (apart from Tom) but everyone here seems very nice and knows what they are doing. I think its a theme that there is only 1 girl in each group I have been in. #ConspiracyTheory
For the first few days, we basically went through some of the level 3 stuff that I did last year but there were also some bits about the new syllabus that we covered relating to cloud hosting and cloud computing. Then we went onto different types of backups and how that can affect performance and storage space, and also what implications each can have for the business and the customer.
We also listened to some presentations from the DM guys just after the first break. They weren't too bad tbh, obviously, there are gonna be nerves that kick in and not having a massive time limit to produce the power point but overall they were good. Some people chose to do different styles of delivery like standing at the back and reading from the board or sitting in their seat. Personally, I didn't like that style of delivery, I feel like it's not having much contact with the audience and it's easy for people to zone out as your not looking at them.
One thing I did pick up was that there was only 1 of them that introduced the video and what the video represents in their presentation, so most of the time it was up to me to try and figure out how this liked to the presentation, but apart from that, the presentations were pretty good.
