Barclays Life Skills Session With Sid
Sid presented us with a very good life skills session today which he had taken from Barclays. This was a very informative presentation as the first part of this session helped us develop our problem solving skills. We were given a scenario, in teams, which we had to come up with ways or a resolution, tho throughout this process we were given issues that impact our decisions.
We then went out to speak about different skills that people need to have in society these days, there are the obvious skills that you need like personal skills and people skills which enable to you be able to go out and get a job but now a days, you need to have 21st century skills. These skills are like leadership skills, confidence skills, resilience, creativity etc...
Theses are the skills that enable the people of this century to be better suited for jobs that are being created now, for example IT jobs and networking jobs.
Then we went on to speak about personal branding and how people can see you, we spoke about how we though out friends see us. We had to think of five words to describe how others see us. I came up with outgoing, funny, flirtatious, stubborn, and open. These are the main words that I have heard people call me or describe me as.
Other to the learning, we got to meet a new member of the Escalla team Ewan. First impressions of him is that he seems like a really nice and funny guy who you can get along with. We got to know a bit about him and his bumble bee friends and how he tears heads off his bees... seems like a great guy...
