Escalla in a whole
It was a nice surprise to see Amy back in to talk to us about hate crime and what the different categories there are within hate crime. I think that we should sway Sid out for Amy, she's here quite often anyway so why not just swap them and Sid can go into the Police force...
But with regards to the session she gave us on hate crime, I thought it was really good that escalla are here to not just help us apprentices out with our IT skills to prepare us for out future job roles after this year is up but they are also here to help with life skills too. Like we had Barclays in to speak to us about finances, we've had people in to speak about road safety, we've had the fire service in to speak about how to take the roof off a car if we ever need to (that was really fun to watch btw) and we've had Amy in to speak to us about multiple things.
I have some friends in apprenticeships at other places in Cheshire and no other training academy does anything like we do here, some teach in massive classrooms with loads of students in it which I think is not the right way to do it, some teach in small groups but all they do it IT and that is it, they don't deviate and help them out with life skills or anything outside of the workplace. And one of my mates is in an apprenticeship where someone comes out to her workplace once a month to "teach" her some skills and so far after being there for a month before I started my apprenticeship, she has learned barely anything.
I am realising how lucky I am to have found a training academy that actually looks out for you and sets you up to survive in the outside world rather than just put you in a classroom, give you a book and off you go.

I love this! Thank you for taking the time to write these kind words about your training and learning with us. It is a true pleasure to work with you on the apprenticeship programme
